eTranzact Ghana and Npontu Technologies Launch AI and Payments Accelerator Program

Two leading Ghanaian tech companies, eTranzact Ghana and Npontu Technologies, have joined forces to launch an AI and Payments Accelerator program.

In partnership with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), this initiative aims to empower innovative startups in Ghana by providing them access to funding, mentorship, and technical expertise.

The program specifically targets startups developing AI-powered payment solutions that enhance financial inclusion, improve efficiency, and reduce costs within Ghana’s rapidly evolving fintech landscape.

Dr. Stephane Nwolley, CEO of Npontu Technologies, emphasized the importance of African voices in the AI conversation and highlighted the company’s commitment to developing relevant AI solutions and nurturing a skilled workforce for the future.

Dr John Obeng Apea, CEO of eTranzact Ghana, expressed enthusiasm for the accelerator program, emphasizing the need for Africa to lead in future technological advancements. He outlined plans to foster innovation by collaborating with academic institutions in Ghana and abroad.

The accelerator program offers selected startups:

  • Funding: To support the development and scaling of their AI-powered payment solutions.
  • Mentorship: From industry experts at Npontu Technologies and eTranzact.
  • Technical Expertise: Access to eTranzact’s payment gateway, AI technology, and technical resources.
  • Networking: Opportunities to connect with other startups, investors, and industry experts across the Commonwealth.

Martin Awagah, President of the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association, commended the partnership, recognizing the transformative potential of AI in the financial sector. He encouraged fintech startups to seize this opportunity to develop innovative solutions for the Ghanaian market.

Benjamin Gomado-Cobblah, Country Director of CWEIC, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration between eTranzact and Npontu Technologies, acknowledging the far-reaching impact of AI across various sectors.

The application process for the accelerator program will commence in the first quarter of 2025. Interested startups can apply online by submitting their business plans, pitch decks, and other relevant documents.
